How we sell

Terms & Conditions

Last updated 24 August 2026. Desi Tekai Business Solutions Private Limited, trading as The Gud Co.

These terms govern prepaid orders of village-made jaggery and related foods sold on thegudco.in by Desi Tekai Business Solutions Private Limited, trading as The Gud Co.

1. Who we are

Desi Tekai Business Solutions Private Limited (“we”, “us”) operates the website thegudco.in and the consumer brand The Gud Co. We sell food products — principally unrefined cane and palm jaggery, powders, liquid gur, sweets, and farm crates — to buyers in India.

CIN U62013RJ2026PTC115972. Incorporated on 13 July 2026 with RoC-Jaipur. Registered office: 80/69 Nyay Path, Madhyam Marg, Mansarovar, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, 302020. Directors: Saumya Dutta and Prayush Rai.

We are not registered under GST as of 24 August 2026. Prices on the shop are the amount payable. If GST registration is obtained later, this page will be updated and tax will be shown as the law requires. We do not invent a GSTIN.

2. Agreement and eligibility

By browsing the site or placing an order you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Refund / Cancellation / Return Policy, and the Shipping Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or pay for an order.

You must be 18 or older, or placing an order with the consent of a parent or guardian. You confirm that the name, mobile number, email, and Indian delivery address you give are true, and that you are authorised to use the payment instrument.

3. The goods

We sell perishable and semi-perishable food. Jaggery takes up humidity, weeps in the monsoon, and has a best-before window printed or stated on the pack. Sweets and ladoos are shorter-lived than blocks. Liquid kakvi and nolen gur settle and darken; that is the boil, not a defect.

Photographs are of the boil or of a typical pack. Colour, grain, and moisture vary by village, season, and pan. A darker shard is not “spoilt sugar”. Country of origin is India unless a listing says otherwise.

Stock figures on a listing are a snapshot of this build. We may refuse, split, or cancel a line if a lot has run out. If we cancel after you have paid, we refund the affected amount to the original payment method.

4. Orders, price, and prepaid checkout

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm dispatch or send an order confirmation after payment. Prices are in Indian rupees. We are not registered under GST; the listing price is the amount payable and no GST is added at checkout.

This shop currently records prepaid-style orders in the browser for demonstration. A live checkout on thegudco.in will collect payment through an Indian payment aggregator (for example Razorpay or PayU). We do not take card numbers on our own forms. Title in the goods passes when we hand the pack to the courier; risk in transit is dealt with in the Shipping and Refund policies.

Please read the pack, the mill-share line, and the refund rules before you pay. Prepaid food is not a subscription. We do not auto-renew.

5. Consumer protection

We sell as an e-commerce entity under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Those rules require us to publish our legal name, geographic address, contact details, and a grievance officer; not to manipulate prices unfairly; and to deal with complaints in the timelines set out below.

Nothing in these Terms takes away a right you have as a consumer under Indian law that cannot be contracted out of — including the right to approach a consumer commission of competent jurisdiction.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site: no scraping that harms the service, no posting unlawful content, no attempting to break checkout or invent stock, and no using our farmer names or photographs except as the site presents them.

The Gud Co and the pack photography are used to sell our goods. You may not copy listings wholesale to pass them off as another mill’s.

7. Grievance officer

Under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (and rules thereunder), the grievance officer is Saumya Dutta, founder@thegudco.in.

Write “Grievance” in the subject line and include your order id, PIN, and a short description. We will acknowledge a written grievance within 48 hours and aim to dispose of it within one month of receipt, as those rules require.

8. Liability

We take care with boiling, packing, and dispatch. Food still depends on how it is stored after it reaches you — keep blocks and powder in a tin, away from steam. We are not liable for humidity damage after a successful delivery, or for how a household uses the product in cooking.

To the extent Indian law allows, our liability for a given order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top is the current version (24 August 2026). Material changes will sit on this page. Continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the new Terms for later orders. An order already paid is governed by the Terms as they stood on the day you paid, unless a change is required by law.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your right to approach a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, disputes shall be submitted to courts having jurisdiction at Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
